Tammy L. Wertz, 67, of Bellefonte, was declared cancer free when she went home to be with her Savior on Wednesday, May 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 19, 1957, in Muncy Valley, the daughter of the late Gene and Lydia (Kile) Eichenlaub. On August 20, 1977, in Williamsport, she married the love of her life, Lee R. Wertz.
She is survived by her husband, Lee; her five children: Seth Wertz (Sabrina) of Gardiner, NY; Nathanial Wertz (Marietta) of York, PA; Tim Wertz (Heather) of Centre Hall; Naomi Hanna (Justin) of St. Albans, WV; and Sarah Ray (Tim) of Port Matilda. Tammy is also survived by her siblings: Melinda Eichenlaub, Todd Eichenlaub (Sue), and Berry Eichenlaub all of Montoursville; along with 12 cherished grandchildren: Natalya, Nicholas, Hannah, Rebecca, David, Daniel, Esther, Elisabeth, Abigail, Jordan, Armor, and Gene.
Tammy had a deep love for children, especially her grandchildren, and was a guiding presence in their lives. Her family was her greatest joy, and she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Known for her humility, kindness, compassion, and selflessness, Tammy gave wholeheartedly to those in need. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and strived to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
As a devoted member of Berean Bible Fellowship Church in Unionville, she spent much time serving the Lord through children's ministries. Tammy read her Bible and talked to her heavenly Father constantly. Much of her prayers were focused on praising her loving Savior and praying for the needs of others. Her source of strength and peace came from her quiet time with Him. Her faith in her Lord and Savior was steadfast and unwavering.
Tammy was a 1975 graduate of Montoursville High School and spent much of her career as a dedicated preschool educator. She took great pride and joy in helping young children grow and thrive by teaching them the necessary skills of life and how we can see Jesus in everything. In later years, she worked in housekeeping at the Country Inn & Suites. Although they were very different careers, she still had the same occupation, to shine the light of Jesus so that all around her would come to know Him.
A public visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 13, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Daughenbaugh Funeral Home in Milesburg. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Berean Bible Fellowship Church in Unionville, with Pastor Steele officiating. Burial will follow at Oakridge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Servant's Heart Camp Ministries, 422 Servants Heart Dr., Ramey, PA 16671.
Tammy's family extends heartfelt thanks to all the friends and loved ones who supported her care in recent months. Every act of kindness, no matter how small, was deeply appreciated.

Dear Wertz family,
I was so sad to have missed the opportunity to share my wonderful memories of your mom and my sister in Christ. Please know I rejoice with her that she is in perfect peace with our Saviour and Lord. Also, that my prayers are with you all in your sadness as you are experiencing such a great loss. How Tammy was loved - I think it is safe to safe by everyone who knew her and that includes me.
