Tanisha Duncan Obituary
It is with profound sadness, we announce the passing of Tanisha Sherrie Duncan, lovingly known as "Nisha," who left us on June 29, 2024. A native of Chicago, Illinois, and a recent resident of
South Bend, Indiana, Tanisha was born on April 29, 1981.
She was an ambitious woman with a supportive heart, full of inspiring ideas and a loving spirit. As an accomplished merchandiser at Pepsi for three years, her dedication to her work was admirable. But it was not just her professional accomplishments that defined Tanisha; it was her ability to inspire others, her genuine love for life and her unyielding faith that truly made her an extraordinary person. Tanisha was a woman of many talents, but her true passion lay in creating joy for others. She was a divine cook and an expert hair stylist, often hosting the most memorable family events where she would serve her delicious dishes and create stunning hairdos. A movie enthusiast, she cherished these shared moments watching the latest films with her loved ones. She also loved sharing the stories of her young adulthood with friends, such as Anita Giden. She was a beacon of light, her infectious laughter and radiant spirit lighting up any room she entered. Above all, Tanisha was selfless, always placing the happiness of her family before her own. Her steadfast love and commitment to her children and family were unparalleled. Her award for being the "Best Mom in the entire world" was not merely an accolade, but a testament to her undying love and selfless nature. Tanisha was a devout Christian, always striving to strengthen her relationship with God. Her faith guided her through life and now, in death, we find solace in the Bible verse, "I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." (2 Timothy 4:7)
She leaves behind an enduring legacy of love and inspiration, carried on by her mother, Georgia Duncan, her and her beloved daughters, Caryale Simmons and Nevaeh Streeter, her sister Alycia Duncan, brother Andrew Duncan, her nephews, Marquis Duncan, Mikel Duncan, Malik Duncan, her aunt Lynda Hernandez, grandmother Irma Scott, uncles, Bruce and Karl Scott, a great niece, LeAsia Weathersby, grandson, Kaison Mahone.
Her father Gerald Scott and her sister Rhema Harris precede her in eternal rest. Tanisha Sherrie Duncan was more than just a name, she was an incredible mother, sister, daughter, and friend. Her beautiful spirit, strength, and unwavering love will be forever missed and remembered. We invite you to share your memories, stories, and photos on her memorial page.
