Tarrant Bee Boyd II (79) passed away last Saturday, February 8, 2025 at his home.
Graveside service will be conducted at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery 73001 Memorial St. Hitchcock, TX. on Friday February 21, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at Emken-Linton Funeral Home in Texas City on Thursday February 20, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Tarrant Boyd was born on December 09, 1945 on Pearl Harbor Day in Texas City. He grew up in Texas City where he became an Eagle Scout in 1963 and graduated from Texas City High School in 1964. He then attended Lamar Sate College of Technology graduating in 1969 with a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering. His life was put on hold when he was drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps for the Vietnam War. Afterwords he then started working for the Army Corp of Engineers continuing his education until he started working for Aramco. During this time, he became a reserved deputy for Liberty County until he went to work for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice as an engineer. He worked for TDC for 12 years until his retirement in December 2000. He then work for Weisser Engineering for 7 years after which he retired fully to just focus on family and deer hunting with lifelong friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Tarrant B. Boyd in 1992 and Dorothy W. Boyd in 2017. He is survived by his three children, Tarrant Boyd III, Thomas D. Boyd and Elisa R. Boyd.
He is a beloved father and friend who will be sorely missed.
