Theodore “Ted” John Bauer, age 73, passed away peacefully on February 28, 2026, in Rochester, Minnesota, surrounded by his loving family.

Ted was born on January 22, 1953, in New Richmond and grew up in Hudson, where he attended Hudson High School. On April 28, 1990, he married the love of his life, Sally Ann Bauer, in Hudson, and together they shared a beautiful life and blended family filled with laughter, adventure, and deep devotion.

Ted was mechanically gifted and a dedicated businessman. He owned and operated Laser Magic, Inc. and Accumark, Inc. for over 40 years, building them into successful family businesses that he proudly passed down to the next generation. Prior to launching his laser business, he drove taxi and ambulance services in Stillwater, always ready to serve others. Ted believed strongly in giving back, and his engraving work throughout the community reflected his generous spirit.

He truly lived life to the fullest. Ted loved hot rods, road trips, valley cruises, and traveling wherever the road would take him. He enjoyed long walks outdoors and had a magnetic energy that drew people in. Outgoing and easy to talk to, he could strike up a conversation with anyone. Caring, family-oriented, loving, and giving, Ted simply loved people and made everyone feel welcome.

Ted is survived by his loving wife, Sally Bauer; his sons, Scott (Vanessa) Bauer, Eric (Tonya) Bauer, and Andy (Jean) Bauer; his stepsons, Jim (Erin) Nerby, Rick (Becky) Nerby, and Randy (Mary) Nerby; and his stepdaughter, Christy (Roger) Hoolihan; his grandchildren, Haley (Josh) Hoolihan, Hope (Mitch) Hoolihan, Heidi Hoolihan, Hunter Hoolihan, Holly Hoolihan, Kaylie (James) Giossi, Abby (Riley) Nerby, Josh Bauer, Carter Bauer, Brandon (Jess) Nerby, Owen Nerby, Eli (Darcy) Nerby, Dylan Eggen, Kaylee Eggen, and Briley Eggen; his great-grandchildren, Remi Barnes, Maverick Barnes, and Jette Giossi; and his siblings, Tim (Joyce) Bauer, Terry (Debby) Bauer, Dan (Diane) Bauer, Greg (Danna) Bauer, Tony (Rhonda) Bauer, and Mary (Jim) Nasvik.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Catherine Bauer.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, at O'Connell Funeral Home in Hudson, Wisconsin. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a service at 12:30 p.m.
