Ted Dennis Obituary
Ellabell- Teddy Robert Dennis, age 57, passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 at his home after a valiant battle against cancer. Ted left this life, just as he lived life; hand in hand with his wife of 38 years. Ted was born in St. Joseph, MO to the late Judy Groce Dennis and Alvie Dennis, Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and was a commercial truck driver for 35 years. He retired from Wells Hauling only after being forced to do so by cancer. Ted enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles and spending time with his family. He loved his faithful dogs, Sookie Sue, Peanut and Kahluah. Ted was loved and respected by all who knew him. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step father, Kenneth Hughes, one sister, Debbie Stewart of KY and one brother, Alvie Dennis, Jr. of Blitchton.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia Dennis of Ellabell; one daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Wayne Harris of NE; two sisters, Regina Lenhart and Connie Lenhart, both of St. Joseph, MO; one brother, Patrick Nicholson of St. Joseph; one grandson Aiden Harris of NE; four god children, James Bonham of Ellabell, John Beasley of Wilmington, NC, Tamara Weathers of NC and Chris Weathers of NC; his sister by choice, Mary “Libby” Maggard and brother by choice, Rodney Holand.
A memorial service will be held 5 P.M. Monday, March 4, 2024 in the chapel of Flanders Powell Funeral Home with military honors.
