Ted PACKARD Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Apr. 20, 2025.
Theodore (Ted) Packard of Arlington, MA, died peacefully at home on April 18th, surrounded by his loving family, after a 2 1/2 year battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 68 years old. Ted was the son of Clifford Packard and Emily Pratt Packard of South Glastonbury, CT.

Ted grew up in South Glastonbury, where through high school he helped his uncle Brud Pratt on his horse farm. He later moved to MA where he met and married his wife and raised his family.

Ted was the beloved husband of 36 years to Sheila Packard (Ryan), and devoted father of Lisa (Jeff), Ryan (Marie), Mike (Lia) and Erin. A software engineer with many interests, he loved sailing and putting on cyclocross bike races. He and Sheila spent many happy years with their family in Arlington and at their summer cabins in Lincolnville, ME.

Ted is also survived by his sister Connie Packard Kamedulski of Ridgefield, CT and his brother Mark Packard of South Glastonbury.

To honor Ted, please consider a donation to PanCAN (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network) Purplestride (Pancreatic Cancer Action Network), Arlington FoodLink, or the Arlington Boys and Girls Club.

So many things to say, and yet there are no words. The world has lost a truly kind and thoughtful man, a man that made a difference in many lives. Pancreatic cancer is a horrible disease that needs more research dollars to fund studies of early detection and potential treatments and ultimately a cure. Rest easy my brother.
