Ted Rollins, age 81, of Forest City, passed away Thursday, April 3, 2025 at Prisma Health Care in Greenville, SC.
Ted was born Saturday, July 17, 1943 in Cramerton, NC to the late Daniel C. Rollins and Vesta Henderson Rollins. He worked for J.C Cowan (Burlington Industries) for many years before retirement. Ted enjoyed tinkering with small engines and fixing things. He was known for his sense of humor and being able to keep everyone smiling. Due to his failing eyesight, he thoroughly enjoyed listening to western stories on tape. He was a connoisseur of M&M’s and Little Debbie snack cakes. Ted’s life’s passion was spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Jack Rollins, Don Rollins, Bill Rollins, Margaret Babnew, JoAnn Hewitt, Brenda Latham and Wanda Conner.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of sixty-one years, Patsy Ayers Rollins; daughter, Angie Bumgardner (Steve) of Forest City; son, Darrell Rollins (Frankie) of Grover, NC; sister, Gail Trunk of New Bern, NC; grandson, Gaither Rollins (Sarah); step grandchildren, Adam Bumgardner (Marque), Sarah Bumgardner, Isaac Bumgardner, Brandie Robinson (Chris), Amanda Irvin, Cierra Toney (Tanner); great grandson, Marshall Rollins and thirteen step great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 5th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Roy Byers and Reverend Norma Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
