Ted Strother Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Rush Funeral Home - Oakdale on Dec. 25, 2025.
Funeral services for Mr. Ted Carrol Strother, I will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Lone Star Pentecostal Church, Hineston. Interment will follow in Elisha Memorial Cemetery, Glenmora, under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Oakdale.
Mr. Strother, 84, of Willis, Texas, formerly of Glenmora, entered eternal rest on Friday, December 19, 2025, at Houston Methodist The Woodlands Hospital.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Hunting and fishing were his life, and he especially loved running beagles while rabbit hunting. A true cowboy, he spent his days working horses and cattle and his evenings enjoying classic westerns. Above all else, he was devoted to his family; they were his greatest joy. He shared a special bond with his sister, Barbara Ann, who was very much like him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Huey and Aline Strother.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include his loving wife of sixty-three years, Johnie Darlene Strother of Willis, Texas; one son, Ted Carrol Strother, II (Rebecca) of Conroe, Texas; two daughters, Angela McCaslin of Waco, Texas, and Stephanie Carmichael of Fort Worth, Texas; four granddaughters, Grace James (Jessie), Kaleigh Black (Devin), Jessica Rodriguez (Nick), and Ashton McFeron; four grandsons, Lane Strother, Kyle DeVoss (Ashley), Kory DeVoss (Ashton), and Peyton McFeron; eight great grandchildren; and two sisters, Barbara and Suzanne.
A time of visitation will be held at Lone Star Pentecostal Church, Hineston, on Saturday, December 27, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until time of service.
