Teddy Charles Ryan III

Teddy Charles Ryan III, age 64, died at his home in Elizabeth City, NC, on Sunday, January 18, 2026. He was born in Norfolk, VA on April 6, 1961, to Teddy Charles Ryan, Jr. and the late Carole Faye Sibley Rye. Teddy was an entrepreneur with the spirit of adventure. He was an artist, designer, and visionary, plus a jack of all trades. Teddy was also a SCUBA Divemaster and traveled to many countries in pursuit of his passions.

He had a diverse background of employment, including service as an Ambassador for the Lord God Almighty Jesus Christ from 2004 until his death; Reedy Creek Fire and Rescue – IAFF Local 2117 RCFR as a Firefighter Driver Operator-EMT; self-employed business owner, manager, and designer; Engineer Activity Games/TCR Enterprises/WATER TAG from January 1, 2003; owner/manager of CVM Enterprises; and TCR Enterprises from 1992 until his death.

With an incredible thirst for knowledge, Teddy studied Christian Theology and Ministry at School of Discipleship, Class of 2011; College Of The Open Bible, Class of 2011; Pastoral Certification (Rev. Ted); studied Judeo-Christian Theology and Ministry at Southeastern University, Lakeland, FL, Class of 2008; studied Firefighter/EMT (retired) at Valencia College, with a Firefighter/EMT Major; studied ED-PSYC/Fine and Applied Arts at Trinidad State College, Class of 1981; studied at Art Center College of Design, Class of 1978; went to Mira Costa High School, Class of 1978; attended Gramby High School from 1975-1976; and attended Ryan Academy of Norfolk from 1965-1975.

In addition to his father, Teddy is survived by a daughter, Jaclyn Lynette Ryan; a sister, Micki Sibley; a brother, Sam Sibley; and two stepsisters, Margie Farmer Twiford and Karen Farmer Mathews. Teddy was preceded in death by his mother.

A memorial service will be held on February 16, 2026, at Discovery Church, 4064 Winter Garden Vineland Road, Winter Garden, FL 34787, with a 10:00 a.m. visitation and 11:00 a.m. service, including the Reedy Creek Fire and Rescue – IAFF Local 2117 Honor Guard ceremony. Friends are invited to share memories following the Celebration of Life service.
