Jennette Tisdale Weeks

Jennette Tisdale Weeks, age 83, of Elizabeth City, NC, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, at her home, surrounded by the family she loved so deeply.

Born on December 20, 1942, Jennette lived a life defined by love, care, and devotion to others. Above all else, she was a caregiver at heart, a role she carried with strength, grace, and an unwavering sense of responsibility. She devoted herself to caring for her husband, James Weeks, until his passing, and lovingly cared for her son, Dean Hudson, throughout his life until his passing. Being there for the people she loved was not something Jennette saw as a duty, but as an expression of who she was. Jennette was the owner/operator for over 40 years of Family Hair Care. She loved the business so much that she worked for as long as she possibly could.

As a mother and grandmother, Jennette's love was steady, fierce, and endlessly giving. She created a home that was warm and welcoming, where food was prepared with pride and care. She was known for making some of the spiciest chicken around and for the way she thoughtfully prepared and presented every meal. To Jennette, feeding others was another way of loving them.

Jennette was endlessly talented and resourceful. She could sew or upholster just about anything, never hesitating to fix, mend, or create something beautiful with her own hands. She found joy in yard work and gardening, enjoyed puzzles, and loved being social and surrounded by family. She adored her dog and cherished opportunities to travel, especially cruises and trips to Atlantic City.

Warm, kind, funny, smart, and beautiful, Jennette was also deeply compassionate, empathetic, and determined. Her presence made people feel cared for, understood, and at home. The love she gave so freely will continue to live on in those who were lucky enough to receive it.

She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Rodgers; her grandson, Adam Rodgers; her granddaughter, Rachel Rodgers; her great-grandson, Beau Rodgers; and her brother, H.T. Tisdale, Jr. (Frances), who will carry her memory forward with love.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at Twiford Memorial Chapel with Chaplain Kevin Reiver officiating. Entombment will be at West Lawn Cemetery. Jennette's service will be live streamed on her obituary page at www.TwifordFH.com.
