Teresa Lynn Chapman, 68, of Adel, Iowa, passed away on March 24, 2026, at Mercy Hospital.
Teresa was born on March 7, 1958, in Winterset, Iowa, to Dave and Juanita Ross. She was preceded in death by her father, Dave Ross, and her sisters, Marcia, Shelly, and Jean. She is survived by her mother, Juanita Ross, and her sister, Jane. Growing up, Teresa and her sisters were affectionately known as “the girls” in Winterset.
Teresa is survived by her loving husband, Terry Chapman; her son, Michael Chapman (Sabrina Chapman), and her grandson, Miles; her daughter, Mattie Chapman (Tony Gensler), and her granddaughter, Lily; She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Hazel.
Teresa worked in administration and will be remembered for her warm, radiant smile and her genuine gift for sparking up conversation with not only family and friends but also strangers she just met. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures such as rock hunting, hiking, gardening, and mushroom hunting even though she would avoid eating mushrooms at all costs. Teresa spent countless hours in a car whether it was for Mikes sporting events throughout the years or family vacations making special memories. She loved spending time with Mattie, traveling and countless trips to MN over the years. Most importantly, nothing meant more to her than time spent with her husband Terry, her children and her grandchildren.
The family will communicate plans to hold a Celebration of Life for Teresa in the near future.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Heinz 57 Pet Rescue.
Teresa will be deeply missed and forever loved by all who knew her.
