Teresa Fivel Obituary
Obituary published on Legacy.com by Brookehill Funeral Home on Jan. 13, 2024.
Teresa Guadalupe Fivel, born November 30,1940, known as Terry by all her family and friends, went to be with our Lord on January 12, 2024.
Terry is survived by her sisters; Ernestine "Jean" Castillo, Annette Anderson, Josephine "Josie" Fivel, Iola Oviedo (Gilbert), her 4 children Linda A. Sanchez (Joe), Cynthia M. Ovalle (Gabriel), Jesse D. Aguillon Jr., Rachel D. Cunningham (Lewis), 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Ernest J. Aguillon Sr., grandson Ernest J. Aguillon Jr., father Ernest John Fivel, mother Elvira Narezo, and sisters Mary Fivel Garcia and Lillian Fivel Castro.
From an early age Terry would open her heart to many people she wanted to help in one way or another. The simple act of splitting a hamburger and a coke would start a friendship with her dearest and closest friend, Irma Ramirez (Robert). A friendship that would span seven decades.
Terry would share with many people. She shared her home to many that needed a roof over their head. She shared her dining room table with anyone that needed a meal or just wanted to sit and talk. She shared her love of music, food, and dancing with her children and grandchildren on many different occasions. She shared without hesitation and without ever asking for anything in return. Up until the day she took her final breath, Terry cared more about others than she did herself.
Terry married in April of 1960. She would go on to be the mother of five children: Linda, Cindy, Ernest, Jesse, and Rachel. Terry worked in retail for many years, retiring from KMART in 1998. She would then go on to work with other retailers but found her passion at Christian Hope Resource Center where she could continue to help those families in need. Terry worked until her medical ailments would make it hard for her to get around. Through constant pain she would continue to give help anyway she could.
On Friday, January 5, 2024, Terry was diagnosed with Acute Leukemia. She was placed on hospice that following Monday. She spent her last days with her family at home surrounded by love and prayer. Terry closed her eyes, drifted off to sleep, and awoke in the arms of Jesus Christ.
She will be forever loved, honored, and remembered as our Mom, our Grandmother, and our Angel.
