Teresa Gibson Obituary
Teresa was born in Washington, D.C. to the late Elmer and Joan Marie Dent. She is preceded in death by their first daughter, Patricia Dianne Gibson, siblings Francine Deinlien, Irene Hart, and John Dent; and their beloved dogs over the years, Oscar, Buster, Hershey & Smiley, and Bear who passed most recently in November.
Survivors include Teresa's husband of 54 years, Earl Gibson; daughter, Kela Gibson (David) of Fredericksburg, VA; three grandchildren, Jordan Casey (Carissa) of El Paso, TX, Taylor Castillo (Daniel) of San Diego, CA, and Shawn Casey of Cape May, NJ; two great granddaughters, Olivia Castillo and Alina Castillo; siblings Catherine Behanna of Myrtle Beach, SC and Elmer Dent, Jr. of Providence, RI; many extended family and a host of friends.
Teresa was dedicated to her professional administrative career until her retirement in 1999 when she and Earl relocated to Las Vegas, NV before settling in Myrtle Beach, SC in 2003. She enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life, including bowling, waterskiing, bingo and shopping. In her retirement years she most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, along with fishing, playing "Books & Runs", Pinochle and Poker, and genuinely enjoyed the coastal life.
Memorial contributions may be made to Amedisys Hospice Care of Conway, SC (#2235).
A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, December 20, 2025, at Goldfinch Funeral Home, Beach Chapel with a reception to follow in the Goldfinch Funeral Home Celebration Center.
The family encourages everyone to wear casual and bright colors in Teresa's honor.
