LEWES, Del. - Teresa "Terry" Panicola Gough passed away on July 5, 2021 at Beebe General Hospital in Lewes. Terry was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 8, 1951 to the late Antoinette and Anthony Panicola.
She grew up in Babylon, Long Island, New York, graduated from Cabrini College in Radnor, Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She then moved to Dover, Delaware and began her teaching career as a fifth-grade teacher at Lake Forest North Elementary School in Felton for 29 years. Terry then taught at Holy Cross Elementary School in Dover for six more years before retiring in 2009.
Terry was the rock of her family. She was an incredible wife, a loving mother and a wonderful grandmother. She was a friend to all. As a passionate educator, she touched the lives of many children along the way, and was often referred to as "my favorite teacher" to past students she would run into (the only teacher who smiled when she was mad). She cherished her time on numerous cruises with her family and her friends, and was a diehard New York Yankees and New York Knicks fan. She loved American history and was a wealth of knowledge about the Titanic, Ellis Island, and the Statue of Liberty.
Terry is survived by her husband of 48 years, Ron; daughter, Terianne Utley with granddaughter Ryan Nicole Utley; daughter, Nicole Gough; her brothers, Michael Panicola (the late Florence Panicola) and Anthony Panicola (Marianne Panicola); nieces: Dina Stamm (Douglas Stamm, Lauren Stamm, Jonathan Stamm); Denise Panicola Kesler (John Kesler, Jennifer Kesler, John Kesler); Mary Panicola Graziano (Richard Graziano, Richard Graziano Jr., Emma Graziano); nephews: Anthony Panicola (Alison Panicola, Anthony Panicola Jr., Cara Panicola); and Michael Panicola.
Viewing Sunday, July 11, 2021 from 2-4 p.m. & 6-8 p.m. Funeral Service Monday, July 12, 2021, 11 a.m. at Pippin Funeral Home, Wyoming, Del. where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment Barratt's Chapel Cemetery, Frederica, Del.
