Teresa Madera Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cypress Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park on Oct. 11, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Teresa Madera, October 12, 1939 – October 9, 2025
With a heavy heart we announce the passing of Teresa Madera, a devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Her life was a testament to her unwavering love for her family.
Born October 12, 1939, in Huejuquilla El Alto, Jalisco, Mexico. She was a catechist during her youth in her hometown, where her Catholic faith grew deeply. She lived in Tijuana and Livermore before eventually settling in San Mateo, California, where she built a beautiful life and raised her family.
She was married for 66 years to her beloved husband, Jesus Madera. Together, they created a home filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Teresa treated everyone with warmth and kindness. She loved spending time with her family, cooking delicious meals that brought everyone together, playing (Mexican bingo), cards, and visiting the casinos in Reno, Nevada to try her luck on the slot machines.
She had a special eye for finding hidden treasures – whether at thrift stores, garage sales or during her many years as a vendor at the San Jose Flea Market.
Teresa will be remembered for her generous heart and the joy she brought to everyone who knew her. Her love, laughter, kindness, and the comforting meals she lovingly prepared will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
She is survived by her loving husband, Jesus Madera; her daughter Gloria; her sons, Ruben, Jesse, Jose and his wife Carmelita. She is also survived by her grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, who will continue to carry her love and spirit in their hearts.
She is reunited with her beloved daughter Evelia, her son Enrique "Kiki", her parents Martin Macias and Severiana Caldera, her siblings Rafael, Tomas, Rafael, Vicenta, and Socorro, whose memories she held close to her heart.
