Teresa Elaine Norton

Teresa Elaine Norton, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family.

Teresa was born in Santana, Kansas, and grew up in Georgia and South Carolina. She was the proud mother of Michael Dustin Wise (son Brett Wise), Jennifer Lindsay Horne (husband Cory Horne, children Brady, Taylor, and Livy), Trapper Ford Wise (wife Meredith Wise, children Kayleigh, Kamryn, and Kinsley), and her youngest, Sara Elizabeth Wise. Her family was her greatest joy, and she treasured every moment spent with them.

Teresa built a beautiful life in South Carolina, raising her children there and working for Milliken for more than 25 years before retiring. After retirement, she moved to Smithfield, North Carolina, to be closer to her children and grandchildren, where she planned to enjoy a slower pace of life—but couldn't sit still for too long! She spent 5 years working for Chick-fil-A, bringing smiles to everyone she met.

Teresa loved tending to her backyard garden, crocheting, quilting, and generously gifting her “masterpieces” to everyone she knew. She could never resist a good yard sale—or a blackberry patch or fruit tree on the side of the road.

Teresa’s life was full of love, laughter, and simple joys. She leaves behind her family, memories, and stories that will be told for years to come. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of Teresa’s life will be held at Hopefront Church, where family and friends will gather to honor her memory.
