Teresa Marie Parkkonen

Teresa Marie Parkkonen, 76, of Negaunee, entered Eternal Life early Saturday morning, April 1, 2023 at Eastwood Nursing Center while in the care of her loving family.
Teresa was born November 10, 1946 in Ishpeming to Theodore and Myra (Eman) Delarye and attended Ishpeming High School. She married Howard Hilpi Parkkonen in Ishpeming, and together they enjoyed over 51 years of marriage. They relocated to Rhinelander, WI in 1991, where she worked in an assisted living facility and also provided in home health care. They returned to the Marquette area in 2012.
Mrs. Parkkonen was a loving and devoted homemaker for her family. She was a member of CrossBridge Church in Ishpeming and was a former member of the Calvary Baptist Churches of Negaunee and Rhinelander. She loved being with kids, especially babies, always volunteering in the church nursery. In her spare time, she enjoyed camping with her family, attending Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers games, and taking car rides locally. Most of all she loved being with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.
Surviving are her son, Terry (Ronda) Parkkonen of Negaunee; daughter, Laurie (Kevin) Goodman of Gladstone; five grandchildren: Chris (Stephanie) Parkkonen, Sarah (Stephen) Hooper, Kevin (Amanda) Goodman, Jr., Alan Goodman, and Amanda (Mitch) Marlowe; great-grandchildren: Haiden, Kinsley, Jaizon, Aila, Mason, Vera, Ryker and Eloise; her sisters: Carol (Eugene) Gaboury, Kristine Nicholas, Sheila (Louis) Peace and Candace Delarye; sister-in-law, Pauline (Raymond) Dupras; brother-in-law, Steven (Margaret) Parkkonen; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard in 2016; an infant sister, Karen Delarye; sister-in-law, Lorna Parkkonen; and brother-in-law, Kenneth Nicholas.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, April 8th at CrossBridge Church, Ishpeming, with Rev. Hank Steede officiating. Burial will be in the Negaunee Cemetery. The family will greet family and friends from 9:00 AM until the start of services at 11:00 AM at the church on Saturday, and also at a luncheon immediately following services in the church fellowship hall.
