TERESA POTTS Obituary

TERESA POTTS 03/31/1956 - 09/12/2025 Teresa Ann Potts, 69, of Prague, Okla., passed peacefully from this life on September 12, 2025, in Oklahoma City, Okla., surrounded by her loving family. Teresa was born in Oklahoma City on March 31, 1956, to George and Barbara (Baughman) Rother. Teresa possessed a spirited entrepreneurial drive and a deep love for community, creativity, and exploration. Teresa had managed the candy shop at Frontier City, where she mastered her candy making skills. She later managed several fuel stations, earning the admiration of both customers and employees through her reliability, leadership, and warm presence. It was during this time that she met the love of her life, Darrell. Teresa and Darrell were married for 36 years, they shared a deep bond rooted in love, God, creativity, and share purpose. Together they founded and operated Choctaw Peddler, a business born from their mutual passion for Native American culture and craftmanship. The Choctaw Peddler became a beloved part of the Native American POW WOW community and a testament to their dedication and vision. Teresa's love for travel was matched only by her devotion to her husband and family. She found true joy in giving - whether it was selecting the perfect gift, sharing her made-from-scratch candies, or baking a flawless batch of cookies. Her generosity was thoughtful and heartfelt, a reflection of the care she poured into everything she did. Whether she was exploring new destinations or enjoying quiet moments at home, Teresa especially cherished the time spent with Darrell. Together, they created a lifetime of memories filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering love, a bond that remained the heart of her journey. She was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Wayne Potts and parents Merle and Barbara Baughman and father, George W. Rother. Those left to cherish her memory; children, Scott Bachhofer of Shawnee, Okla., Donavon and Tempist Evenson of Fredonia, Kan., Darla Potts and Lane Willhite of Jenks, Okla., Darrell Ray Potts of Sapulpa, Okla., Gerald and Shannon Potts of Talihina, Okla., Monica and Greg Medellin of Lindsey, Okla.; brothers and sisters, Tracie and Keith Sanders, Timila Rother and Roger Janoe, and Carl and Tela Baughman. She had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; many other friends and loved ones. Visitation will be 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., Friday, September 19, 2025, with service to follow at 10 a.m. at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel, Tecumseh, Okla., with Pastor Darrell Brown, Atwood Baptist Church officiating.
