Tupelo--Our dear sweet mom, Nana and precious friend, Teresa Smith went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, March 21, 2025. Teresa had a love and concern for all God’s creatures. She was the kindest, most considerate person you would ever meet. Teresa dearly loved her family and her home was a meeting place for every special occasion. A woman of deep faith, Teresa loved the Lord, her Sunday School Class and church family at Tupelo’s First Baptist Church where she was a longtime member.

Teresa was also very patriotic and a member of the American Legion Post 49 Auxiliary. She was quite zealous in making sure every deceased veteran received a flag on their grave on Memorial Day. Teresa was an enthusiastic genealogist and historian, relishing in the research required. She also volunteered at the Oren Dunn Museum.

After her human family and friends, her greatest love was her pets, Polly, Biscuit, Quiet, and Slasher. However, no animal that looked hungry or in distress crossed her path without receiving some tender love and care from Teresa.

She was a dear sweet beautiful soul who leaves a big hole in all of the lives of those who loved her, but we also know she is healed and happy, safe and secure in the arms of Jesus. She is with her sweet mother and all her loved ones who went before her.

Teresa leaves behind two children, Justin Smith (Heather) of Tupelo and Jessica Smith of French Settlement, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Mia Ramirez and Thomas Smith; her brother, Clay McDonald of Tupelo; her aunt, Nell Mason of Clinton; and a very special friend, Lance Hollis of Saltillo.

Visitation will be 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, March 24, 2025 at Pegues, Tupelo

Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at the Jefferson Street Chapel with Rev. Ricky Young and Bro. Terry Lee officiating. Burial will follow at Tupelo Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be Dave Thomas, Bro. Terry Lee, Thomas Smith, Sarah Kramer, Brian Kramer, and Billy Faulkner.
