Tereso "Tracy" O. Hernandez, 90, of Jourdanton, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2025.

He was born on June 28, 1935, in Hondo, Texas, to Esteban and Refugia Hernandez. He graduated from Hondo High School in 1955 and proudly served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958. After his military service, he pursued a career as an X-ray Technician, beginning at Mercy Hospital in 1958. He later continued his longtime X-ray service faithfully working in radiology through 2018, dedicating more than six decades to caring for his community.

Tracy was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Maria O. Hernandez; and his brothers Juan, Guillermo "Wille," Pedro "Pete," Antonio "Tony," Felix, and Esteban "Steve" Hernandez.

He is survived by his wife, Catarina "Cathy" Hernandez; his son Tereso "Trey" and his wife, Carol Hernandez of Helotes; his sisters, Guadalupe "Lupe" Hernandez of Hondo, Margaret Apaez of San Antonio, and Estella "Stella" and her husband Manuel Arteaga of San Antonio; and his brother Andres "Andrew" and his wife Dora Hernandez of San Antonio.

Though a quiet man of few words, Tracy was known for his gentle humor and playful jokes that brought joy to those around him. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, whose patience and steady presence made him a constant source of strength for his family. Outside of work, he enjoyed fishing, tending his garden, rooting for the Dallas Cowboys, and watching westerns. A man of faith, he was a longtime member of St. Matthew's Catholic Church. He will be remembered for his hard work, his quiet wit, and his unwavering love for his family.

Visitation will be held on Monday, October 06, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the reciting of the rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Hurley Funeral Home. Mass will 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 07, 2025 at St. Matthew Catholic Church with burial at San Jose Cemetery to follow.
