Teri McKee

Kateri "Teri" Shanahan McKee, 88, of Bellefonte, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at the Community Hospice Care Center.

She was born on May 1, 1937, in Tiffin, Ohio, to the late Eugene T. and Mary Peabody Shanahan. In addition to her parents, Teri was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, James McKee, who passed in 2020, and by her sister, Carol Shanahan Bryant.

Teri was employed as a secretary with Allied Oil and was a longtime- member of the Bellefonte Country Club. She was an avid golfer and also enjoyed playing bridge, remaining active in both until her health declined. She will be remembered for her quiet grace, loyalty to family, and warm presence among those who knew her.

She is survived by her nieces and nephew: Lynn Still (Steven), Janice Gravelle (Thomas), and Michael Bryant (Ruth); brother-in-law, Arthur Bryant; as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews: Megan, Michael, Daniel, Amy, Jane, Dean, Amanda, Grace, James, and Lauren. She will also be missed by her McKee niece and nephews, to whom she was always so kind.

Teri was laid to rest beside her beloved husband during a private entombment at Ashland Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at Steen Funeral Home Central Avenue Chapel, with Rev. Mike Dennis officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M. until service time.
