Hwe, Terk Yuen a resident of San Francisco since 1971 passed away from natural causes on July 12, 2010 at his home in San Francisco, California.
He was born on the eve of Chinese New Year in 1923 in the city of Changyi, Shandong Province, China. His father is Hwe, Jao Dong and his mother is Hwe, Sun Shih. Both were natives of Shandong. He has no surviving siblings.

He went to Burma during the Japanese invasion of China, and established a successful clothing manufacturing business in Rangoon, Burma. He met Ma Tin Myint and was married in 1955. In 1971 he immigrated to the United States of America with his wife and six children and made San Francisco as his permanent residence for 39 years. He had several businesses in the U.S including a clothing business and later established import/export business. He retired in 1996.
He was an active member of San Dong Association in the Bay Area. He was recognized for his significant contribution to the Association.
He is survived by his wife Mrs. Tin Myint Hwe, two sons, Manny Hwe and his wife Alma Hwe, Henry Hwe and his wife Rose Hwe, four daughters Alice K. Hwe and her husband John Ting, twins Susan Hwe Johnson and her husband Robert Johnson, Shirley Hwe, and youngest daughter Molly Hwe and James Thavyxay. He has three grandsons, Christopher John Ting, Sean Hwe Thavyxay and Luke Hwe Thavyxay, as well as two granddaughters Kimberly Hwe and Katherine Young.
The funeral service will be at the Lifemark Center at Skylawn Memorial Park on Monday July 19, 2010 at 11 AM in Crystal Springs Chapel. Visitation will be from 1pm to 5pm on Sunday afternoon July 18, 2010 at the Portola room at the Lifemark Center /Skylawn Memorial Park.
