Terrance "Terry" Donald Town, age 89, went home to the Lord, Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Terry was born in Fredonia, NY on October 14, 1935, to Donald and Lucile Eaton Town. He graduated from Fredonia High School and Fredonia State College, and attended Columbia University and Geneseo State College for graduate studies. Terry was a School Speech Therapist in Chautauqua County, Orleans County and Rochester City School Districts in New York State. He also served on a State of New York committee that enacted laws and regulations for education in the 1970s. He retired after 32 years of service.
Terry loved his family, golf, bowling and being a volunteer medic. He was raised in Fredonia Baptist Church, was a long-time member of Elmgrove United Methodist Church in Rochester, and was most recently an active member of First United Methodist Church of Ormond Beach.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents Donald and Lucile, and by his brother, Robert. He is survived by his wife of almost 60 years, Nancy, son Robert Town (Karen), and daughters Julie Tisinger (Stephen) and Jill England (David), as well as nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 16 at 1:00pm at First United Methodist Church in Ormond Beach. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Terry's memory to Halifax Hospice.
