Terrence Crosby Obituary

On August 17, 1958, Terrence Crosby was born in Boston, Massachusetts to the late Arlan and Jeanette (Barnett) Crosby. He departed this life on March 19, 2026, at the age of 67.

Terrence, affectionately known as “Terry,” was the youngest of his siblings and was deeply loved by all who knew him. He grew up in Boston, Massachusetts with his eight brothers and a sister, where he formed lifelong bonds and cherished memories. Over the years, Terry also spent time living with his brother, Stanley, and in Mississippi, further strengthening his connection to both his immediate and extended family.

Terry was known for the way he embraced his role as an uncle, but his presence was just as strongly felt among his siblings. As the youngest, he held a special place in the family, yet he never hesitated to speak his mind and would tell his brothers and sister a thing or two in a heartbeat. He wore the title of uncle with pride and love, caring deeply for his nieces and nephews and always making sure they were fed, safe, and surrounded by warmth. He had a special gift in the kitchen and was well known for what he proudly called his “creative cooking concoctions,” using whatever he could find in the refrigerator and cabinets to prepare something comforting and delicious. His morning biscuits, paired with his homemade syrup, were especially cherished a tradition and favorite recipe passed down from his mother, carrying both love and memory in every bite. He was also known for the special nicknames he gave to his nieces and nephews names that reflected his personality and affection, and that will continue to live on in their hearts.

He also had a deep love for music and enjoyed keeping up with the hottest

tracks in Boston. Terry especially loved artists like Prince, Michael Jackson, The Time, and Luther Vandross, just to name a few. Music was always a part of his daily

life; he would often sing openly around the house, filling the space with joy and soul. Through him, many of his family members developed their own love for R&B and soul music. He also created joyful memories by having his nieces sing songs, especially favorites by Irene Cara over and over again, moments that will forever be remembered with laughter and love.

Terry was known for his sense of style and was often considered the best dressed among his siblings. His presence, personality, and unique spirit made him someone people naturally gravitated toward.

Later in life, Terry faced health challenges that changed the course of his independence. His brothers, Stanley and Lawrence, never left his side, often visiting three times a week, ensuring he was cared for with unwavering dedication, compassion, and loyalty throughout his most vulnerable years. Through their care for Terry, the bond between them grew even stronger, a testament to the love and unity he continued to inspire within his family

Terry leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and family devotion. He will be remembered for his kindness, his unique spirit, and the many lives he touched simply by being present.

Terry leaves behind to cherish his memory his siblings: Arthur Crosby and his wife Ruby of Mississippi; Horace (Tony) Crosby and Margaret Crosby of California; Delmar (Duke) Crosby and his wife Lodia of Georgia; Lawrence Crosby and his wife Karen of Massachusetts; Ann Crosby-Smith and the late James Smith of Mississippi; Stanley Crosby and his wife Patricia of Massachusetts; along with a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Crosby, Sr., and his brother, Arlan (Bobby) Crosby Jr.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 9:30-10:30am, with a service to follow at 10:30am at the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St (Rte 123), Brockton. His burial will be in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
