Terri Jean McGrath, age 65, of Cary, IL passed away peacefully with family by her side on July 15, 2025.
Terri was born in Chicago, IL on February 7, 1960. Terri was a sweet and caring women who loved her family, the Chicago Blackhawks, and crafting and watching football – not necessarily in that order. You could often find her surrounded by a stack of cardstock, various hole punches, and a collection of markers with a hockey or football game or a hallmark movie playing in the background. You always ran the risk of leaving her room covered in paper pieces or confetti and you knew that you would be getting a handmade card on the next holiday or following your next major life event. She was a perfectionist when it came to making her cards. She loved a good story and her whole face would light up when she was telling you a silly joke or sharing a tasty piece of news. Despite her health issues, she tried her best to remain positive and upbeat and she was constantly working on some sort of new project (her final project was a series of genealogy scrapbooks). Prior to her retirement, Terri worked in the logistics industry and loved the challenges that it presented her and people that she met along the way. She was a dedicated worker and took great pride in knowing that her customers were always taken care of.
Terri is survived by her loving sister, Traci (Daniel) Thomas (nee McGrath); her loving brother, Timothy (Jennifer) McGrath; Her nephews Timothy Jr (Amy) McGrath, Thomas (Leah) McGrath, Kenton McGrath, Christopher Burlingame, and niece April McGrath. Great Nephews Sean, Tyler, Bailey, Braylen, Cooper McGrath and Blake, Riley, and Karsten Burlingame. Great Nieces Kayla Burlingame and Olivia and Lily McGrath and great-great niece and nephew. Her loving Aunts and Uncle. We can’t forget Freida, the four-legged friend of hers.
She is preceded in death by her loving mother Diane Elizabeth McGrath (nee Klepper) and wonderful father Thomas James McGrath; and her kitty, Missy
