Terri Walker Obituary

Published by Legacy on Nov. 24, 2025.
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved sister, daughter, aunt, and friend, Terri Walker, on Saturday, November 22, 2025. Terri was born on July 29, 1960, to Carrol and Shirley Walker in Rockford, IL. Though she faced developmental challenges throughout her life, she met every day with joy, laughter, and an excitement that inspired everyone around her. Her happiness was genuine, infectious, and one of her greatest gifts.

She was a sweet, fun-loving soul who treasured time with her family. She especially enjoyed playing Uno, often beating all of us with a grin on her face. She loved to dance, and her favorite movies, Dirty Dancing and Grease, were constant sources of joy. She adored the color purple, admired Donny Osmond, and never missed an episode of Wheel of Fortune.

At the age of 19, supported by Milestone, she proudly moved into her own apartment and started working at Growth Enterprises. There, she built many meaningful friendships that lasted throughout her life. Later, as her health declined, she moved to Elmwood Heights at Milestone, where the caring staff truly became an extended family. Their compassion, kindness, and dedication were a blessing to all of us.

Her life was defined by love, laughter, and resilience. She taught us what it means to celebrate small moments, to enjoy every day, and to find joy wherever it can be found. She will be forever missed and forever cherished.

Terri is survived by her sister, Missy (Jeff) Skogsberg of Machesney Park, IL; her brother, Kip (Beth) Walker of Bartlett, IL; nieces, Megan Skogsberg, Kylie Walker; and nephew, Austin Walker. She also leaves behind several loving cousins. She is predeceased by her parents, Carrol and Shirley Walker.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Milestone, Inc., in gratitude for the exceptional care and support they provided.

No services are currently scheduled. Interment will take place at New Milford Cemetery.
