Terry "Big Terry" Dean Postrach, Sr.

On the evening of April 2, 2025, Terry “Big Terry” Dean Postrach, Sr. passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, at The Journey Home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

Terry was born on August 24, 1940, in Bartlesville, OK, to Earl Postrach and Dorothy (Fugate) Postrach. He grew up in the Bartlesville area, graduating from Bartlesville High School with the class of 1959.

On February 10, 1961, Terry married the love of his life, Beverly Blount. They had two children together: Terry Jr. and Tracy. As a family, they enjoyed attending rodeos and calf ropings. Throughout the years, Terry served as a director of the Oklahoma Junior Rodeo Association, was a member of both the Bartlesville and Nowata Round-Up Clubs.

As the years went on, grandchildren and great-grandchildrenentered the family. Big Terry enjoyed the role of Grandpa and Great-Grandpa by often attending extracurricular activities, rodeos, and ropings.

Terry was self-employed, working as a carpenter. He was a talented framer and could build anything he set his mind to. He enjoyed calf roping, attending rodeos, watching baseball, and a good-looking blood bay horse. He also enjoyed drinking coffee and iced tea.

Big Terry was undoubtedly one of a kind with his ornery personality and entertaining stories. He was always up for a good time and will be missed by all whom loved him.

Terry is preceded in death by his parents: Earl and Dorothy Postrach and his grandmother: Minnie Fugate.

Those left to cherish the memory of Terry include his wife: Beverly Postrach of Nowata, OK; his children: Terry Dean Postrach, Jr. of Nowata, OK and Tracy Postrach of Nowata, OK; his grandchildren: Casey Elam and husband, Corey of Ramona, OK, Payden Arnold of Pryor, OK, and Tyler Nowlin of Nowata, OK; two great-grandchildren: Chayten Elam of Ramona, OK, and Channing Elam of Ramona, OK; his brother: Danny Postrach of Nowata, OK; along with several nieces and nephews, other family members, and friends.

Visitation for Terry will be held on Sunday, April 6, 2025, from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM at Happy Hill Church in Ramona with Rick Yocham and Marty Brock officiating. Interment will follow at the Ochelata Cemetery.
