Terry Laron Bonds, 73, of Atkins, passed from this life on Tuesday, September 16, 2025, at Mercy Medical Center in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
He was born March 8, 1952, in Sheffield, Alabama, to the late John Laron and Ioma Lee Trimble Bonds.
On November 27, 1974, Terry married the love of his life, Ann "Jill" Bonds, in Iuka, Mississippi. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and service. A gifted computer programmer by profession, Terry was most proud of the roles that defined his heart: devoted husband, loving daddy, and "Pawpaw." Among his most cherished spiritual milestones was the blessing of leading both of his parents to the Lord and baptizing his oldest grandson.
Terry's faith was the cornerstone of his life. He was a member of West Side Church of Christ, where he joyfully served in many ways. He found special fellowship with the men of the Old South breakfast group, and he dedicated his time and energy to serving at Camp Caudle, where his example touched countless young lives. He loved kids and making people laugh. He was full of joy and friendliness. He lit up a room when he walked in and could always be heard saying "fair to middlin" and "It's me, it's me, it's Terry B".
He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and his happiest moments were often simple ones – reading his Bible, journaling about his Bible and his day, cheering on a baseball game, walking at Bona Dea, fishing with his grandsons, watching movies with family, or just being with those he loved.
Terry was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Ann "Jill" Bonds of Atkins; his daughter, Christina (Dale) Brooks of Dover; three beloved grandchildren, Enoch, Elijah, and Ruby Ann Brooks; and his aunt, Sunnie George. He leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and quiet strength that will live on through his family and all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, September 22, 2025, at West Side Church of Christ in Russellville, with Tim Tripp and Lee Henson officiating. Burial will follow at Center Valley Memorial Gardens in Russellville under the direction of Humphrey Funeral Service.
