Terry Dorale Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Kinzley Funeral Home - Salem on Jan. 5, 2026.
Terry Dorale was a man of few words unless you knew him. For those that did, he had more wisdom, sarcasm and shenanigans than most could handle.

Born in Mitchell South Dakota on August 3, 1956 to Virginia Roth (Dorale) and Albert Dorale. He grew up on the family farm near Spencer, South Dakota. Terrorizing the area with his siblings LeRoy, Rod, Randy, Peggy and Del-Ray. After graduating from Spencer High School, Terry then moved on to complete his vocational schooling in Sioux Falls, South Dakota studying automotive/mechanical repair.

After spending three years at Jenssen Equipment repairing equipment, he decided to follow his dream of being a cowboy. Terry loaded up his 62' Impala and headed west until he broke down in Wyoming. Only by the kindness of a local did he find his first ranch job at the TE Ranch up the "South Fork" of Cody Wy. After landing a job there, the Western Sky has always been his home.

Like a traditional cowboy Terry bounced around a few ranches ultimately landing at the Double Doc Ranch. This is where he found his home in the west among great friends and a Cotton Candy Cloud sky to work under. Terry has been happily working for the last 20+ years at the Double Doc Ranch up until semi-retirement. Terry had a large caring heart and he built/created more than most will ever know.

He leaves two sons behind to carry on his legacy Dusty, Justin and his grandson Kaleb Dorale. He is preceded in death by both his parents, and his former wife Cindy.

Forever a restless wandering soul. For those of us that knew him, sitting idle was never his thing. None of us will know the full man that Terry was, but those that got to know him well, will always hold a piece of him in their hearts and... his.

Forever a Quiet Man with a Sharp Mind and a Cowboy Heart
