Terry Dale Dorr

Terry Dale Dorr, 74, of Reeds Spring, MO passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family after a short battle with pancreatic cancer.
Family and friends are invited to Terry's Life Celebration, 2:00 PM Monday, February 17, 2025, at First Baptist Church in Clever, Missouri. A visitation will be held from 12:30 PM until the time of the service on Monday at the church.
Terry was born on November 15, 1950, in Macon, Missouri, the son of Edward F. and Doris E. (Dawson) Dorr.
Terry was a graduate of Centralia High School, Centralia, MO. He then attended Northeast Missouri State University Kirksville, MO for 2 years, and received his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Missouri in 1974. Terry later earned his Master of Education from the University of Missouri in 1988.
Terry is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jeanne Dorr (Burnett), whom he met in 1977, and were married in 1978; his children, Joy Bittle (Greg) of Lake St. Louis, MO, Dustin Dorr of Sparta, MO (girlfriend Shelley of Springfield, MO), Holly Hopson (Nate) of Branson West, MO; grandchildren, Jasper, Fischer, Hudson; bonus grandchildren, Vienna, Aria; brothers, Rodney Dorr (Geneva) of Maysville, MO, Gary Dorr (Sandra) of Centralia, MO, brother-in-law Greg Burnett (Cathy) of Hartsburg, MO, and sister-in-law Cheryl E. Burnett of Springfield, MO.
Terry's professional career would take him to many great places. He was a teacher/coach at Mexico, MO from 1974-78, Versailles, MO from 1988-90, Appleton City, MO from 1990-92, Marionville, MO from 1992-95, and Reeds Spring, MO from 1995-2021, 2023-24. Along with his journey as a teacher and coach, Terry would continue to touch the lives of youth by serving as a music/youth Minister at FBC Mexico, MO, FBC Richland, MO, FBC Carl Junction, MO, Hamlin Memorial Baptist Church Springfield, MO, Trinity Southern Baptist Church Versailles, MO, FBC Appleton City, MO, FBC Marionville, MO, FBC Kimberling City, MO, and FBC Crane, MO.
Terry retired from teaching and coaching after many years of service. He was also a MSHSAA Football Official, a member of First Baptist Church Clever, MO, where he served as a deacon, Missouri Retired Teachers Association (MRTA), and Southwest Missouri Officials Association (Football).
When Terry was not teaching, coaching or helping his church he enjoyed playing recreational sports, music, horses, being outdoors, and participating in church activities. He had a heart for missions, but he truly loved and cherished his grandchildren.
