Terry Mark Duke

Terry Mark Duke, 65, Passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2024, at his home.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Dr. Greg Robertson, and Rev. Matthew Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Fairgrove United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Terry was born in Rockingham County to the late William Nathaniel Duke and Lois Adele Talley. He was a  1976 graduate of Wentworth High School. He worked 18 years with American Tobacco and finished his career at Shionogi Qualicaps. Terry was a musician, playing guitar and singing. He loved the outdoors, gardening, animals and four wheeling. He was always the life of the party and enjoyed “cutting up” with his many friends. Most of all, Terry loved his family. He will be greatly missed.

Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Ben Duke.

Terry is survived by his wife of 37 years, Jana Duke; brother, Tyler Duke (Lynn); sister, Phyllis Cayton (Dean); sister-in-law, Shari Hightower (Steve Weston); nieces, Madison D. Bryant (Chandler), Savannah Duke; nephew, Josh Cayton; great nephew, Colby Cayton; aunt, Lois Ann Rudd; uncle, Dwight Talley; faithful canine companion, Yancey and a large and loving group of extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Fairgrove United Methodist Church and the Rockingham County Animal Shelter.
