Terry Irgens, age 68, of Plainwell, MI, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. She was born on November 19, 1956, in Albion, MI, to Christine Haywood and the late Forrest Hanks.
Terry's life was defined by her deep love for family, her kindness, and her joyful spirit. She first married Steve Morgan in 1973, and together they welcomed their daughter, Monica (Jason) Cherrington. On September 16, 1976, she married Jarl Irgens, and they built a life together that included their daughter, Erica (Rich) Bonnau. Terry was an incredibly proud grandmother to Adam, Chloe, Zackary, Cheyanne, and Jarl, all of whom brought her tremendous happiness.
She is also survived by her mother, Christine Haywood; nephew, Phil Hanks; and sisters-in-law, Heidi Irgens and Nancy Hanks. She was preceded in death by her father, Forrest Hanks, and brothers, Rand and Timothy Hanks.
Terry worked at Plainwell Lanes for more than a decade, where she formed lasting friendships and enjoyed being part of the community. She loved spending time at the casino and never turned down a good game of bingo. Her family fondly remembers her love for animals, especially her loyal companion, Chuey, who held a special place in her heart.
Some of her most cherished memories were made on family trips to Florida-especially in Daytona Beach-where laughter and sunshine were always abundant.
Terry will be remembered for her warmth, humor, and unwavering devotion to the people she loved. Her legacy lives on through the family and friends who will miss her dearly.
