Terry Johnson

Terry L. Johnson, 83, of Rockford, lost his battle with brain cancer on Friday, August 8, 2025 in his home surrounded by family. Born May 16, 1942, in Rockford, the son of Leonard and Marcella (Papich) Johnson. Graduate of East High School in 1960. Terry married Patricia A. Johnson on October 20,1979. He worked at Camcar Textron retiring in 2002. Terry was an avid sports fan with a special love for baseball. Terry managed the Cougar's 11-12 yr old boys' baseball team placing 2nd in state. Terry enjoyed fishing, kayaking, music, and was always the life of the party. Most of all he loved and cherished his family. He will be dearly missed.

Survivors include wife, Patricia; furry companion, JoJo; son, Timothy (Shelley) Johnson; daughter, Kristine (Victor) Macias; step-daughter, Nicole (Mark) Morgan; grandchildren, Victor (Ethan) & Alexandria Macias, Emily, Olivia, & Dylan Johnson, Carson & Sydney Morgan; and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents; and two brothers, Bill and Fred Johnson. The family would like to give special thanks to Jim Sweeney, Tom Johnson, Judy & Val Johnson and Serenity Hospice.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2025 at Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., Rockford. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services. Entombment in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Machesney Park, IL. In honor of Terry, it is strongly encouraged to wear your favorite sports team attire while attending his visitation and funeral.
