Terry J. Leines, 56 of Moorhead, MN passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 23, 2025, in his home.
Terry James Leines was born in Moorhead, MN on November 2, 1968, to Luvern and Shirley (Samshal) Leines. He grew up in Moorhead and attended Moorhead High School.
Following school he worked various manual labor jobs around Fargo/Moorhead. He was never one to sit still and was always willing to help a neighbor or friend with anything they needed. Whether something needed fixing or someone needed moving, Terry was your guy. He loved football, hunting, fishing and, more recently, tending to his herb and vegetable garden and keeping a meticulous lawn. He prided himself on have the best grass in the neighborhood.
On January 12, 2002, he married Geniece Klemz and they had two children. Terry was a very involved and present father. Game and movie nights were something he loved as the children were growing up. He was careful not to be too involved as the children got older but made sure they knew he was always available for anything they needed. Terry also loved animals and especially his cats, even going so far as to buy a large humidifier out of concern the cat’s skin would get too dry. He was a fantastic story and joke teller and never took himself too seriously. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Terry is survived by his wife, Geniece; children, Lanie and James; mother, Shirley; brother, Mike; sister, Susan Hanson, and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his father, Luverne and brother, Duane.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. with a visitation one hour before the service at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Moorhead, MN.
