Mr. Terry L. Morris Sr., age 57 of Madison, Indiana, entered this life on September 9, 1965 in Madison, Indiana. He was the loving son of the late Dennis Lawrence Morris and Ruth Ann Coghill Morris. He was raised in Madison and was a 1985 graduate of Madison Consolidated High School. On July 18, 1985, he was inducted into the United States Navy in Louisville, Kentucky and rose to rate of E-4. He was honorably discharged to the Naval Reserves on April 18, 1988 in Norfolk, Virginia and honorably discharged from the Naval Reserves on July 17, 1993. Terry resided all of his military career in Norfolk, Virginia and moved back to the Jefferson County area in 1993. On May 20, 1995, Terry was united in marriage to Dawn Rachelle Kirby at Hanover Baptist Church by Pastor JD Traylor. After his service in the Navy, Terry worked for Darrell's Tire Service and ASI. Terry then began a 20-year career with Arvin Sango as a Team Leader Group 1 and retired in 2016. He recently went to work for A. Dattilo Fruit Company. Terry enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and collecting pocket knives. He was a dedicated, long time member of West Madison Faith Community Church where he was a member of the men's group. Terry died on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 at 9:47 a.m. at the Norton King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana. A LOVING FAMILY
Terry will be missed by his loving wife of 27 years, Dawn Rachelle Kirby Morris of Madison, Indiana; his daughter, Ella Grace Morris; his son, Terry L. Morris, Jr. of Madison, Indiana; his brothers, Vernon Morris of Madison, Indiana, and Bobby Joe Morris of Hanover, Indiana; his step mother, Rachel Morris of Hibernea, Indiana; his mother in law, Nancy Kirby of Madison, Indiana; his grandparents, Larry and Leona Courtney of Carrollton, Kentucky; his special cousin, Patricia Coghill Kirby of Chicago, Illinois; his brothers and sisters in law, Duke Kirby of Indianapolis, Indiana, Todd Kirby and his wife Pat of Chicago, Illinois, Tracy Kirby and his wife Stephanie of Lexington, Indiana, Christopher Kirby and his wife Mollie of Scottsburg, Indiana; and Jill Kirby of Brooksburg, Indiana; his special nieces and nephews, Cortney McIntosh (Arlie), Ashley Radcliff (Monty), Tyler Kirby (Kari Ann), Shelby Kirby, Dan Kirby, Ryan Kirby and many others; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Dennis Lawrence Morris, died April 18, 2021, his mother, Ruth Ann Coghill Morris, died January 4, 2021, his grandfather, Henry Morris, his grandmother, Evelyn Morris Courtney, his grandparents, James and Hazel Coghill, his brother in law, Jeff Kirby, died December 23, 2021, and his father in law, Dewell Kirby, Sr., died August 12, 2016.
FUNERAL CEREMONY
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 30, 2022, at 2:00 p.m., by Pastor David Leland at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana. Interment will follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1415 North Gate Road Madison, Indiana.
VISITATION
Friends may visit Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre, 325 Demaree Drive Madison, Indiana.
MILITARY HONORS
Military honors will be provided by the Major Samuel Woodfill Post No. 9 of the American Legion.
MEMORIAL EXPRESSIONS
