Terry Paul Ogden passed away on Sunday July 7, 2024 in Mesquite, Nevada. He was born in Ogden, Utah on August 27, 1966 to parents Charles Paul Ogden and Carolyn Reid Ogden. He was the middle child of the family with an older brother, Wayne, and younger sister, Patricia.

Terry grew up in Ogden, Utah and had an adventurous childhood with very close friends. He attended Bonneville High School where he enjoyed wrestling and serving in Student Government.

He served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Buenos Aires, Argentina 1985-1987. While in Argentina he found a love for the culture, food, people, and soccer. This love of soccer would play a big role in his future. For the rest of his life, he would tell story after story about the wonderful experiences he had while in Argentina.

After his mission, he met the love of his life, Heidi Lyn Bouwhuis, on a blind date. They married December 15, 1988 in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived a wonderful life together and were each other’s firm foundation while weathering the storms of life. Together, they welcomed three children into their home, Kiera, Brailee, and Keaton. In 1998, they moved to Mesquite, Nevada and found a community they loved.

Terry loved supporting the youth and helping them have opportunities to grow. He served for many years as a scoutmaster, Young Men’s leader, soccer coach, and volunteering as a starter for swim meets. In Mesquite, Terry coached the girls high school soccer team and founded FC Mesquite, a soccer league for the local kids. He went on to work with Utah Youth Soccer Association and enjoyed making sure the teams in Southern Utah had the resources they needed to support their players. While work working for UYSA, he saw a need for more soccer fields to support the growing league. In order to meet that need, Terry envisioned a new soccer complex near Santa Clara, Utah that many athletes could enjoy for years to come. For the past two years he headed that passion project, Shivwits Legacy Field Complex.

Terry was known for being generous and having a heart the size of a lion. He would often stop when he saw people with car trouble on the side of the road or take food to a struggling friend or neighbor. When he interacted with others, he would try to make their day a little better by bringing cheer and laughter.

Terry also had a love for music and could often be found listening to beautiful instrumental music while going about his day. More than anything, Terry enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He loved to chat, share stories, and tell jokes. Anyone who knew him well had probably heard the same jokes and stories from him multiple times. His friends and family will miss hearing those jokes and stories over and over again. He will be missed more than words can express.

He is survived by his wife, Heidi; children, Kiera (Cody) Anderson, Brailee (Warren) Anderson, and Keaton (Natalie) Ogden; grandsons, Luke and Rhett Anderson, and soon to be granddaughter, Scotland Ogden; siblings, Wayne Ogden and Patricia Johnson; and many other beloved friends and family. He is preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Carolyn Ogden.
