Terry Pettit, 82, passed away Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at Regional One Health in Memphis.
Funeral services are 11:00 am Saturday, August 9, 2025 at Culpepper Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at Jerusalem Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 9:30 am til 11:00 am at Culpepper Funeral Home.
Terry is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rita Pettit, brother Billy Pettit, sister Ruby Henderson, daughter Dianne Hutchinson (Ronny), sons Wayne Pettit (Tanda) and Phil Pettit (Lisa), grandchildren Tabitha Tate, Ronny Joe Hutchinson, Brooke Aguilar (Jimmy), Glace Rone, Ethan Pettit, Makinzee Evans (Philip), Tyler Pettit, and Colby Pettit (Mandy), and great-grandchildren Eli, Lexi, and Ryan Tate, Bryce, Colton, Dylia, and Archer Hutchinson, Kamryn, Jack, and Gray Aguilar, Ashtyn Pettit, Baidee and Britton Evans, Landon and Braylee Pettit, Caleb, Case, and Myla Pettit, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Terry was ordained as a Deacon on May 17, 1970 at Jerusalem Baptist Church, and remained a deacon until his passing. He served as a Sunday School Teacher for nearly 50 years. Terry currently was a member of Parkway Baptist Church. He was a retired self-employed house painter.
He was preceded in death by his parents Benny "Ed" and Carrie Brown Pettit, son Paul Pettit, granddaughter Ayla Pettit, great-grandson Jace Hutchinson, brothers Clyde, Ernest, and James Perry "Pep" Pettit, sister Nan Sills, and infant siblings Grady Franklin, James Benton, and Martha Geniece Pettit.
