Terry “Turk” Phillips was born on August 18, 1960, in Savannah, Tennessee, the son of the late James Ray “Wormy” and Kathryn “Kitty” Faye Gattis Phillips.

On October 7, 1978, he was united in marriage to Jana Marie Morris, who survives.

Terry was a retired tool and die maker. He will be remembered for his ability to fix all things. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and loved being on the lake and river. He was an avid football fan and loved his Tennessee Vols. He loved to go to the beach with family and friends. He was a devoted husband, dad, and Poppy. The legacy left behind will be Terry’s love for his family and the cherished memories he was able to create with everyone that knew him. Terry passed away after a courageous and long battle with cancer, surrounded by loved ones. Throughout his journey, he maintained a positive attitude with incredible strength and never let the illness define him.

Terry “Turk” Phillips departed this life on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the age of 65 years, 7 months, and 9 days.

He is survived by his wife, Jana Phillips; children, Matt Phillips (Kim), Brooke Kilburn (Brad), and Brett Phillips; grandchildren, Rylee Kilburn, Cooper Kilburn, and Anniston Phillips; brother, David Phillips; and sister, Ann Spencer.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated, and a celebration of life be held in lieu of a funeral. This will be announced at a later date by the family.
