Terry Allen Ratliff

Mr. Terry Allen Ratliff, age 70, of Oakwood Virginia, passed away Sunday (May 21, 2023) in a Pikeville Medical Center, Pikeville, Kentucky. Born January 27, 1953 in Richlands, Virginia, he was a son of Anna Pearl Steele Ratliff of Oakwood and the late Donald Ratliff. A lifelong resident of Mt. Heron, he was a 1971 graduate of Garden High School and had earned a Bachelors Degree in Human Resources from Bluefield State College. He was currently employed as a State Mine Inspector with Virginia Energy for the past thirty years. He was of the Baptist faith and loved to share his musical talents at church as well as teaching piano for over fifteen years. He enjoyed gardening, but his greatest joy came from spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly.
In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife of 44 years, Sandora Hale Ratliff of the home; two children, Elizabeth Michelle Jones and husband, Coby Allen of Edmond, Oklahoma and Jason DonAllen Ratliff and wife, Darcy of Grundy; five grandchildren, Christian DonAllen Ratliff, Kendall Elizabeth Jones, Bentley Jason Ratliff, Payson Jane Ratliff, and Ellis Allen Jones; siblings, Stoney Ratliff and wife, Karen, Johnny Ratliff and wife, Jasmine, Marianne Fletcher and husband, David, and Bert Whitt and wife, Bonnie; many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Rebble and Pikeville Medical Center for the care they provided.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Virginia with Pastor Stephen Jody Breeding, Pastor Brandon Estep, and Honorary Pastor Tom Witten officiating. Interment will follow in the Ratliff Cemetery at Oakwood, Virginia.
Pallbearers will be Coby Jones, Christian Ratliff, Matthew Ratliff, Jeremy Ratliff, Joshua Ratliff, David Rose, and Aaron Blankenship.
His grandchildren will serve as Junior Pallbearers.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Employees of Virginia Energy.
The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home on Thursday from 12 – 2 PM.
