Terry Lynn Sims

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Ms. Terry Lynn Sims, a beloved aunt, daughter, sister, and friend, who departed this life peacefully on February 1, 2026.

Ms. Sims was born on August 24, 1965 in New Orleans, Louisiana to Wilma and Donald Benjamin Sims Sr. From the beginning, she radiated strength, elegance, and resilience. She carried these qualities with her throughout her life, touching the lives of everyone she encountered.

She spent her early career as an administrator with the New Orleans Public School System, serving her community for over 10 years. After relocating to Texas, she continued her career as an Independent Claims Adjuster. Outside of work she loved spending time with family and friends, traveling, and expressing her love through cooking meals that brought her family together.

She is predeceased by her late father Donald B. Sims Sr. and brother Donald B. Sims Jr. She leaves behind her mother Wilma E. Sims. Two sisters, Deona Picquet (Harold) and Tracy Slack (Christopher Jr.), brother Wilmington Sims (Cynthia), and sister-in-law Pamela Sims. Although Ms. Sims didn't have any biological children, she was a mother figure to her nieces and nephews who she loves so dearly; Latasha Morris (Glenn), LaDonna Celestine (Corey), LaWanda Sims, LaShonda Sims, Christione Slack, Tianny Sims, Christian Slack, Dwayne Sims, Ventrell Leslie and Donald B. Sims III. She cherished her godson Michael Gibson Jr. who also held a very special place in her heart. She is also leaving behind a host of great-nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Terry's life was a blessing and her memory a treasure. She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
