Indian Land, South Carolina - Terry D Smith of the Sun City Carolina Lakes community in Indian Land, SC passed away September 15, 2025.
Born July 21, 1942, Terry was proud of being born and raised in Galena, Illinois. After graduation from the University of Wisconsin, Platteville, WI, Terry joined the military. His Army service included a tour in Vietnam in 1968. His final military posting was in North Carolina. He fell in love with the South and spent most of his adult life in Charlotte, NC, where he practiced as a CPA for almost 50 years before moving to Sun City Carolina Lakes in 2019.
He loved sports-watching and playing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. Terry cherished family and his many friends-the ones from his childhood and the friends he made throughout the rest of his life.
He is survived by his spouse, Jean Galloway and family. To honor his wishes, no service is planned at this time. There will be a private family service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Care, (Via Health), 1057 Red Ventures Dr., Suite 150, Fort Mill, SC 29707.
