Terry Smith Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by McNutt Funeral Home - Conroe on Jan. 17, 2026.
Terry Keith Smith was the rib of his family. Some might say backbone-but if you knew Terry, ribs were his specialty. This man loved to cook. He was a true jack of all trades, and if something was broken, he would always find a way to fix it.

Terry never met a stranger. If you came into his life, you instantly became family. He was a joy to be around-always finding the best in everything and making life a much better place. This world will never be the same without him.

A man of faith, Terry often referred to God as "the big man upstairs." He also had a gift for giving everyone in his life a fun nickname, a small reflection of the love and warmth he shared so freely.

Terry leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that will continue through generations.

Terry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Thomas and Merle Smith, and his parents, Gary Smith and Helene Robertson.

He is survived by his cherished wife, Cindy Smith. He is also survived by his sisters: Lynnette Caswell and her husband, Daniel, of Round Rock, Texas; Jana Parker and her husband, Clay, of Lindale, Texas; and Brandi Smith and her wife, Jessica, of Indianapolis, Indiana. Terry also had many nieces and nephews whom he loved deeply.

Terry was a devoted father to his children: daughter Charlotte Hull and her husband, David, of Kanova, West Virginia; son Thomas Smith and his wife, Kelsi, of Huntington, West Virginia; son Logan Smith and his wife, Amber, of Killeen, Texas; daughter Katie Wright and her husband, Josh, of Conroe, Texas; daughter Amy Terry and her husband, Jake, of Willis, Texas; son Matt Barker and his wife, Lucia, of Conroe, Texas; daughter Gabby Smith of Conroe, Texas; and daughter Me'Kayla Smith and her husband, Brett, of Conroe, Texas.

The true light of Terry's world was his grandchildren. He was the best Papa on the planet and spent most of his time loving and enjoying his grandbabies: Lacie, Rebecca, Montana, Eric, Maison, Catherine, Landrey, Everleigh, Greenlee, Cayden, Brantley, Ben, Jack, Logan, Layne, Addie, Brooklyn, Wyatt, Keian, Annabella, Nolan, and Warren.
