Terry Glenn Thorne, 58, of Nash County, NC, passed away June 10, 2025. Born on August 6, 1966, he was the cherished son of Buddy Lee Thorne Sr. and the late Kay Miller. In addition to his mother, Terry was preceded in death by his stepfather, Earl Miller.
Terry was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Known as a "great fixer of anything", he was always ready to lend a helping hand. He worked faithfully for Wilson Iron Works for over 30 years and loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with those he cared about.
Terry is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Tonya Thorne, his father, Buddy Lee Thorne Sr (Loraine).; three sons, Tyler Thorne (Kristine), Ethan Thorne, and Scott Weeks (Haley); three daughters, Cortney Thorne (Jake), Chelsea Godwin (Matt), and Brenda Strader. Two brothers; Buddy L. Thorne Jr. (Dianna) and Dennis Thorne (Nikki).
A proud grandfather, Terry adored his eight grandchildren: Madison, Colton, Weston, Garrett, Clara, Allison, Tre, and Tallulah. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and countless friends whose lives were touched by his kindness.
A Funeral Service will be held at Cornerstone Funeral Home on Monday, June 16, 2025, at 2 PM with a visitation held one hour prior to the service (1PM-2PM). Officiating by the Rev. Frank Moss. Family and friends are invited to gather at the home of Mike and Von Rhodes, 4424 Hillandale Way, Rocky Mount, NC, on Saturday and Sunday from 2PM-4PM to share memories and honor his remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Children's Organ Transplant Association (COTA) in honor of Ethan Thorne to assist with a lifetime of transplant-related expenses: https://cota.org/cotaforteamethant/
