Texas 'Tom' Russell was born on July 6, 1964, in Joplin, Missouri, one of nine children to Charley E. and Eva B. (Bennett) Russell.

He entered into rest on March 5, 2026, at KU Medical Center, following a lengthy illness, at the age of 61. Tom was a lifelong area resident and graduate of Neosho High School, class of 1983.

He had worked as a detail technician and mechanic for local automotive dealerships and currently owned and operated Shoal Creek Poultry. He took great pride in his poultry farm, raising peacocks and exotics and enjoyed working on his vehicles.

On November 1, 2003, in Miami, Oklahoma, Tom and Carrie Presley were united in marriage and she survives of the home. In addition to his wife of twenty -two years, he is survived by a son, Dillan Texas Russell of Neosho; two sisters, Dora Russell of Springfield, Missouri and Marilyn Jackson and husband, Eddie of Pittsburg, Kansas; two brothers, J.R. Russell and wife, Julie of Wichita, Kansas and Tim Russell of Neosho, Missouri and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jim Presley and wife, Bev of Arma, Kansas.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Gary Russell and Charley Russell and two sisters, Vivian McDonald and Carolyn Allen. The family will receive friends at a time of visitation on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, from 5:30 pm to 7 pm at the Clark Funeral Home, Neosho.

A graveside service will be held at 1 pm, Thursday, March 12, 2026 at the Gibson Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Neosho FFA Chapter, c/o Clark Funeral Home, P.O. Box 66, Neosho, MO 64850.
