Thaddeus "Ted" John Maholick, 63, of Fortson, GA died Friday, March 22, 2024, at his residence. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
Ted was born January 25, 1961, in Cheektowaga, NY, son of Leon Maholick and Mary Ann Bittner Maholick. He retired as a First Sergeant after 26 years of service in the United States Army then worked as an insurance adjuster with Geico for 18 years. It's uncertain how many he influenced and guided while in the military service as he kept in touch with many members throughout the years and into his retirement. Ted enjoyed the outdoors and spent most of his free time maintaining his gardens or riding his Harley Davidson. During the holiday season, neighbors always looked forward to his elaborate yard decorations as he shared the holiday spirit with others. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Lee Maholick.
He is survived by his wife, Christiane Maholick of Fortson, GA; children, TJ Maholick of Baton Rouge, LA, and Anthony Maholick of Pittsburgh, PA; grandson TJ Maholick of Eufaula, AL; siblings Michael "Mickey" (Caroll) Maholick of Clover, SC, Dan (Molly) Maholick of Greensboro, NC, Stephanie (Terry) Wilson of Rochester, NY, Laura (John) Thompson of Moravia, NY, and Michael (Diane) Moore of West Monroe, NY as well as numerous other family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Columbus Hospice, 7020 Moon Rd, Columbus, GA 31909.
