Thadias Milo Snodderly

Thadias Milo Snodderly, age 49, formerly of Pima, Arizona, passed away February 5, 2026, in Tucson. He was born on July 7, 1976, in Safford, Arizona, to Betty Joyce Snodderly and Michael Roger Snodderly.

Thadias was raised in Pima, Arizona, where he lived most of his life and graduated from Pima High School in 1994. In 1996, he began his career as an operator with Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold, where he worked faithfully for nearly three decades until 2023. That same year, he relocated to Tucson, Arizona, where he was employed by Jacobs Engineering and later worked part-time at North Italia Restaurant, a place he truly enjoyed and where he formed meaningful friendships.

On August 25, 2001, Thadias married Ruene Davis. Together they welcomed their daughter, Camryn Lydia, in 2006. Being Camryn's father was the greatest joy of his life. He was a devoted and proud dad who made it a priority to attend every sporting event, dance and gymnastics performance, swimming event, and school activity. From the day she was born, Camryn was his pride and joy.

Thadias grew up working alongside his grandfather, Milo Grauer Sr., and his uncles, Mike Jr. and Jim, at M.H. Grauer Trucking. He had a lifelong passion for anything with an engine and wheels and was always eager for an opportunity to weld or tinker. Even after beginning his career at Freeport-McMoRan, he spent nearly all of his free time at the family shop, doing what he loved most.

In 2009, Thadias had the opportunity to work in South Africa for six months, helping Freeport-McMoRan launch a new processing plant. He was immensely proud to be part of such a significant project. In 2016, he joined Pima Fire and Rescue, driven by his desire to give back to his community. He loved being part of the department, working alongside both lifelong friends and new faces alike.

Known for his generous heart, Thadias was always willing to help anyone in need and was never too busy when someone asked for help. He also loved cooking and baking and became famous among family and friends for his homemade chocolate turtles and cordial cherries, which he lovingly made and shared every Christmas.

In 2022, Thadias and Ruene divorced. After moving to Tucson in 2024, he found a sense of belonging through his work and the people he met, especially those at North Italia, where he felt truly at home.

Thadias is survived by: his daughter, Camryn Snodderly; his mother, Betty Snodderly; his brother, Jesse Freitas; and his nephew, Jackson Freitas.

He was preceded in death by: his father, Michael Snodderly; his grandparents, Milo Sr. and Lydia Grauer; and his uncles, Mike Grauer Jr. and James Grauer.

A memorial Celebration of Life will be held on February 28, 2026, at 1:30 p.m. at Vining Funeral Home in Safford, Arizona.
