Born on October 11, 1934, in LaCrosse, Kansas, he was the son of the late Nima Schwindt and Noel Mellick. Mr. Mellick, a man of remarkable talent, devotion, and curiosity, passed away leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship, faith, and history. His love of flight led him to become a pilot, embodying both adventure and precision.

A true artisan at heart, he was a collector of miniature statues and devoted countless hours to crafting a replica of the famed Russian Amber Room. His meticulous recreations reflected not only his patience but also his deep appreciation for history and architecture. Mr. Mellick was also a layman for his church, where his faith guided his service and devotion. Known as a historian, he preserved stories and knowledge that enriched those around him. Above all, he was deeply committed to his church, where his devotion defined his life’s purpose. He will be remembered as a man who built not only structures and art but also a foundation of faith and community.
