The Very Olivero Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Roberson Funeral Home & Crematory - Port Charlotte on Jul. 31, 2025.
It is with sadness and a heavy heart; that the Lord took home our beloved, The Very Reverend Cesar Olivero on Sunday, July 20, 2025, The Day of the Lord. He was surrounded by his wife and daughters Jessie and Josie.

The Very Reverend Cesar Olivero was born on June 12, 1959 in Queens, New York. He graduated from the Virginia Theological Seminary in 2003. He was ordained a Transitional Deacon on June 14, 2003, and was named Deacon-in-Charge of St. James Episcopal Church in Port Charlotte. He was ordained a Priest on December 19, 2003, and was installed as Priest-in-Charge following his ordination. On November 5, 2005, Fr. Olivero was named Rector of St. James and served that community for the life of his ministry.

Fr. Olivero was the Dean of the Venice Deanery, serving in 2024-2025, 2017-2020, and 2010-2013. He also served on the Standing Committee for the Diocese for 12 years (October 2005-October 2011, October 2012-October 2018), during which he was president, vice-president, and secretary. He served as Chairman of the Commission on Ministry (2018) and as a member of the Committee on Race and Reconciliation. He served as a Deputy to the 77th General Convention in 2012. Fr. Oliver was instrumental in the development of our diocesan Hispanic/Latino ministries. Fr. Olivero was a wonderful man who loved life to the fullest. He will be missed dearly by so many in his community and beyond and all of those who loved and knew him. May our Lord accept him in Heaven with open arms and a beautiful embrace.

He is survived by his wife Pamela, five children, two stepchildren, and 8 grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM, Monday August 11, 2025 at St. James Episcopal Church at 1365 Viscaya Drive Port Charlotte, FL 33952.
