Thea Regas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cannon - Catavolos Funeral Home - Parma Heights on Nov. 26, 2025.
With profound sadness and immeasurable love, the Regas family announces the passing of our beloved matriarch, Thea Regas (née Papaspanos), who entered God's care surrounded by family. A devoted wife, mother, YiaYia, sister, and friend, Thea was cherished by all who knew her.
Born in Greece, Thea carried the beauty, warmth, and traditions of her homeland with her when she immigrated to the United States. Her life was rooted in love-love for her family in Greece, for her extended family across Northeast Ohio and Wildwood, New Jersey, and for the vibrant Greek community that helped shape her life's journey. Always gracious, always polite, and forever smiling, Thea approached life with a sense of gratitude that uplifted everyone around her.
Thea's home was a gathering place filled with the aroma of her world-famous Greek dishes-meals that her family could never get enough of and that she prepared with unmatched skill and endless love. Friends, neighbors, and relatives knew that her door was always open, and that a freshly brewed coffee, warm hospitality, and heartfelt conversation awaited them. She welcomed everyone as though they were family, and in her presence, they were.
Deeply devoted to her Greek Orthodox faith, Thea lived her beliefs with humility and grace. Her tireless volunteer work for the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church Annual Festival was a source of joy and purpose, inspiring those around her. Her faith guided her in this life and continues to shine through the legacy she leaves with her family.
Thea is survived by her loving husband, Alex Regas; her children Jim Regas, Julie Schuller (John), and Zeno Regas (Jennifer); and her treasured grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Alex Regas, Aunna Ellis (Josh), Michael Schuller (Miranda), Lexi Schuller, Zachary Regas, Kristopher Regas, and McKenna Regas. She will be remembered for the endless love she poured into her family, especially her cherished grandchildren, whose lives were brightened daily by her presence.
The Regas family extends heartfelt appreciation to the Perciak Family Residential Hospice Care Center for their tender and compassionate care of our dear YiaYia during her final days.
May her memory be eternal-
PLEASE NO FLOWERS, but rather the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Thea's memory to the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church honoring the faith and community that were central to her life.

I am deeply sadden about your loss. Please know that our neighborhood is here during this difficult time and you are in our thoughts and prayer. I will miss our chats, laughter, endless talks about flowers and gardening. Thea was such a caring and loving neighbor.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Take this time to hold those close to you a little tighter. We all need each other to be there for us. Especially during these sad times.
