Thea Spears

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Thea Margitta Spears, a treasured mother, grandmother, sister and friend, on November 6th, 2023. Born in Germany on April 6th, 1951, Thea carried with her a spirit of resilience and strength that was evident in everything she did. She spent the last 33 years in Tacoma, Washington, where she made an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.
Thea was an incredible woman whose life was a testament to determination and hard work. After moving to Tacoma, she devoted her professional life to the moving industry, where she broke barriers as a female mover. Her strength wasn't just physical; it was emotional and moral as well. She faced every challenge with an unwavering resolve that inspired those around her. As Helen Keller once said, "Character cannot be developed in ease and quiet. Only through experience of trial and suffering can the soul be strengthened, ambition inspired, and success achieved." This quote perfectly encapsulates Thea's life story.
Thea is survived by her sister Margitta and her brother Gerd; children Heike, Ines, and Jackie; her grandchildren Vanessa, James, Terry, Noah, and Nick; and, her great grandson Jru. Thea's legacy will live on through her family, and through the countless lives she touched with her laughter and her feisty spirit.
